Shark's Cove: Part 2

We enjoyed our time at Shark's Cove so much that we decided to return for our last full day on the island.  This time around we brought some reef shoes for Evan, as well as his floatie that he typically wears in the swimming pool.

Again, we got to see some neat fish, and Evan was able to enjoy himself more thanks to a combination of both the reef shoes and floatie, which allowed him more freedom roaming around in the tidepool.

We actually got to see a lot of different fish just wading in the tidepool this time, Jon even saw a snake eel.   The pictures here are of fish we saw in the tidepool.   We are looking forward to getting a real underwater camera, as the disposable ones do no justice to the sealife we were able to witness here.   Evan's favorite fish was a cute little red one called the Red Juvenile Phase Yellowtail Coris Wrasse Fish.

After Shark's Cove we made our way over to the west end of the North Shore, where the YMCA's Camp Erdman is located.  This place is also known to Lost fans as "New-Otherton,"  the village of the group of people referred to as "The Others" on Lost.   Camp Erdman is very friendly to fans of the show, so we were able to walk around and take a few pictures.

We were also able to check out the area of Mokuleia Beach where some other Lost scenes have been filmed.   While we were walking around, I found it humorous that a man was playing fetch with a yellow lab that bore a striking resemblance to Vincent from the show, surely this was just an amusing coincidence.

In the evening Evan and I took part in our Friday night ritual of watching the Hilton fireworks at the lagoon.
